Original Henry’s in Historic Downtown Acworth
It started with a love of food, Southern culture, and a desire to share it all with others. It happened thanks to the support of an entire community. Chef Henry Chandler opened Henry’s Louisiana Grill in 2000, an effort that launched in a then-sparse downtown Acworth, with long days, crossed fingers and many prayers.
Today, our one-of-a-kind restaurant is an award-winning community gathering place with local and national acclaim. We’re a down-home restaurant and bar with the best Southern-inspired Cajun food you’ve ever had, hosted by charismatic Chef Henry, the heart and soul of the restaurant.
Our regulars come as often as possible, while long-distance fans travel 1000 miles for a seat at one of our tables. And it’s no surprise; Chef Henry brings his passion for good food to each and every guest, with a mission not only to share his culinary specialties, but his love of life. His talent for cooking is matched only by his desire to make his guests feel cared for, to have them share in the magic that happens at the restaurant every day.
Henry’s faith in God is reflected in the care he gives to others. At Henry’s Louisiana Grill, our guests enjoy remarkable meals and have their souls nourished too. People come to celebrate big days and any day, because a visit to Henry’s is special, no matter what brought you.
Chef Henry’s culinary background has its roots in his Louisiana upbringing by Nanny Castell, seasoned by world-class French culinary training in London. The result is a rare combination of down-home cooking and international flair that has our guests coming back for more.
Henry greeting his guests
Like his mentor, Nanny Castell, Henry doesn’t take any shortcuts; “made from scratch” is best. We also take the cleanliness of our premises very seriously. But we don’t stop there. Lagniappe (lan-yap) is a Cajun term meaning “something extra”, a principle that Henry and the entire staff live by when it comes to customer service. We strive to give each and every person who honors us with their business 100% satisfaction—at the very least.
Each person who comes in the door is a friend and truly welcomed guest, and Henry and the staff make sure they know it! Our guests let us know by the unanimous 10 out of 10 ratings we received in a recent survey that we’re doing things right. But we are always looking for ways to improve.
A restaurant like Henry’s Louisiana Grill couldn’t happen without the community around us and far beyond. That’s why Henry gives back at every opportunity, whether to the Georgia Transplant Foundation that helped save his life, or one of the many other non-profits and community service projects he supports.
So come on in and experience firsthand what makes us so unique. We can’t wait to welcome you here and to offer you a little lagniappe, Henry’s style. Come taste the good times!
