Afghanistan...
Oh yeah, he was there Chef. He was there!!!
Flat Henry recently entertained the troops as he took short tour of an American base in Afghanistan! He toured the base with the MP's and afterwards went out to survey the mine fields. He really wanted to get out and about to meet the locals...but he couldn't figure out how to traverse the dangerous mine fields outside the concertina wire.

That MP Company is gonna' keep him safe, don't worry. And, fret not Chef, if they can get him off the base and into the countryside he will surely party down with the locals!!!
Thanks for the opportunity to entertain the troops Chef. They've loved entertaining Flat Henry!!!

Little Henry joined Captain Larry of Deadfish Charters for an afternoon of fishing. We launched from Grayton Beach and the Kings were on!
Little Henry reeled in 3 nice King Mackrel in no time flat.
After stopping at the Red Bar for an afternoon cocktail, Little Henry was ready to fry up some Kings!

Bumper Skitching...
Little Flat Henry has been introduced to a northern motor sport known as bumper skitching. Originating in snowy North America, bumper skitching is an activity generally enjoyed by 2 legged adolescent boys until they become 1 legged adolescent boys or mature adults. The boys start by watching cars go by on a snow-packed street, picking out a passing car, running from their hiding place and latching on to the rear bumper of the car. The better rides are the ones in which the driver has no idea that someone has latched on. The exit strategy? Bailing out as the driver turns a corner and getting a good long slide down the side street. Fortunately, Little Flat Henry got caught this time - photographic evidence has been turned in. He has promised not to go out skitching anymore. But, if you know Little Flat Henry, you know that he has a lot more adventures ahead of him.
In Columbia and Bogata...
Little Flat Henry #2 has been on a real adventure over the last few weeks.
After stowing away on a 1943 Douglas DC-3 aircraft, he has traveled the entire
country of Colombia. "Stowaway": Henry really has traveled around South America on a DC-3. He has
visited Costa Rica, Panama, and covered almost every square mile of Colombia.
This picture was taken at a remote, dirt, landing strip in the jungles of
central Colombia. |

"Arrested":
From the dangerous southern jungles to the high mountains
of Bogota, Henry has sampled the local cuisine, explored the beautiful
countryside, and was briefly detained by the Colombian Police. The police didn't really understand why we wanted a picture of them
holding Henry. They were guards at the Cathedral de Monserrate high above
Bogota. Applying his
irresistible Cajun charm, Henry was released by the authorities and warned that
his pants were a violation of Colombia's dress code. |
"Attending Church": Cathedral de Monserrate, elevation 10,400. Originally
constructed in 1640. Reached only by gondola, funicular railway or a very
difficult path of stone steps. Henry felt bad about
offending the police, but after climbing the 10,500 foot mountain to the
Cathedral de Monserrate, he atoned for his mistake by establishing many
friendships among the local food sellers. |
 |
 |
"Casa San Isidro": Great French food on the mountaintop with an awe inspiring
view. Henry enjoyed a gourmet lunch at the
French restaurant "Casa de Isidro" and sampled a delightful Chilean "Vino
Blanco". |
"New Friend": This cute little guy was working at his dad's street booth. Street
food along with the entire Bogota water system is considered safe by the U.S.
Embassy. He is loving the Colombian people and intends to teach his new South
American friends the fine art of real Cajun Cookin'.
However, he insisted that he would not compromise on his pants. Hasta Luego! |
